The Challenge

As Charity Hero prepared to launch, it had no cloud infrastructure to support a reliable development lifecycle, no cost visibility and no automation.

WHEN THERE'S NO SAFE PATH TO PRODUCTION

Environments

Without separation between development, staging and production, instability and data exposure could reach end users.

  • Dev / Staging / Prod
  • Isolation
  • Release stability
WHEN EVERY DOLLAR MATTERS

Cost Governance

The team had no visibility into resource consumption, a critical gap for a non-profit with limited funds.

  • Cost visibility
  • Budgets
  • Non-profit funds
WHEN THE PLATFORM HAS TO GROW

Automation & Security

Without automated deployments, security controls or monitoring, the platform was hard to maintain and impossible to scale.

  • CI/CD
  • Security controls
  • Monitoring

The Solution

Triangu built Charity Hero's AWS platform from the ground up, covering networking, data, delivery, monitoring, security and cost.

EKS

Amazon EKS

Isolated dev, staging and production.

Amazon EKS with separate VPCs per environment, multi-AZ subnets and Route 53 failover, so untested changes never reach the people Charity Hero serves.

Always-on data

Replicated, backed up, auto-restored.

PostgreSQL, Redis and RabbitMQ run with replication and automated backup and restore, so donor and volunteer data stays safe and services stay up.

code deploy

Hands-free CI/CD

GitFlow and CI/CD, end to end.

GitFlow and CI/CD pipelines automate testing, builds and rolling microservice deployments, so volunteers can ship updates fast and without risk.

opensearch

Live monitoring

Real-time alerts via OpenSearch.

OpenSearch with real-time alerting, deployed through Terraform and Helm, gives the team instant visibility into failures before users notice them.

AWS Security Hub

AWS Security Hub

Security Hub, Config and SCPs.

AWS Security Hub, AWS Config and Service Control Policies provide continuous security monitoring, automated audits and access control across accounts.

Cost Explorer

Lean cloud spend

Budgets, tagging and Savings Plans.

Cost Explorer, Budgets alerts and resource tagging show where money goes, while Savings Plans, Reserved and Spot Instances keep the monthly bill low.

The Benefits

Charity Hero now runs on a secure, scalable AWS platform with full cost control, ready to grow with the organization.

Financial

Cloud costs visible for the first time.

Budget alerts, resource tagging and Savings Plans give proactive spend control, so every dollar goes to the mission, not to idle cloud resources.

Technical

Highly available and ready to scale.

Multi-AZ architecture with automatic failover keeps the platform up, and EKS autoscaling lets it grow with demand without re-architecting.

Operational

Security built in, deployments automated.

Security Hub and AWS Config audits keep the platform compliant, and CI/CD replaced manual deployments, so the team focuses on the product.
