This client is an international company and the most prominent Ukrainian telecommunications operator, serving millions of mobile and home Internet subscribers. It provides services using a wide range of mobile and fixed technologies, including 4G, mobile financial services, Big Data, Cloud solutions, cyber protection services, digital TV, and industrial IoT. The company’s mission is to help people stay connected in the digital world, providing them with reliable and secure technology. The company is committed to providing a safe and secure online experience for its customers, which means taking steps to protect their data. The company’s policy emphasizes the importance of customer privacy and the security of stored information.  It employs various security measures – both physical and digital – that ensure its customers’ data is kept safe from unauthorized access or misuse. The Challenge

Our client was obliged to modernize their infrastructure by migrating from an on-premise data center to a hybrid AWS cloud environment. The main reason for the cloud migration is the full-scale invasion of Ukraine which impacts the functioning of physical industrial power solutions. This transition aimed to provide protection against abnormal behavior, improve trust and dependability, secure testing capabilities, and optimize infrastructure costs. To ensure continuity of operations, they wanted to get those out of local data centers and onto a global cloud provider that could offer a degree of distance and resiliency they could never possibly provide on-premises. Our customer invested in an N+1 redundancy system that helped create a fault tolerance architecture.

Goals and Delivery Description

  • Dynamic Scaling: The client needed to utilize Amazon EKS to scale their Kubernetes clusters dynamically. Our solution provided the flexibility and automation required to scale resources efficiently in response to demand.

The Solution

  • Hybrid Environment Architecture: We developed a robust architecture that seamlessly integrated their on-premise systems with AWS, ensuring a smooth transition to a hybrid cloud model.
  • Database Deployment: We successfully deployed Cassandra and MariaDB databases in the AWS cloud, leveraging the cloud’s scalability and reliability to support the client’s growing data needs.
  • SaaS Operations Configuration: Our team meticulously configured the cloud components to support SaaS operations, demonstrating our technical finesse. This involved preparing Golden Images and securing access to the registry, ensuring swift and efficient container image deployment.
  • EKS and RDS Configuration: We set up and optimized the Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) and RDS (Relational Database Service) to meet the client’s specific needs for service orchestration and database management in the cloud.
  • Traffic Management: We established precise traffic processing and filtering rules to ensure seamless integration and communication between the on-premise data center and the AWS cloud.
  • Service Monitoring: The Triangu team implemented continuous monitoring to ensure the stability and performance of all services, providing the client with peace of mind regarding their cloud operations.

The Final Tally

Our client faced the challenges of the ongoing full-scale invasion of Ukraine and required a resilient infrastructure solution to migrate their on-premise data center to a hybrid AWS cloud environment. Triangu developed a robust architecture that seamlessly integrated their existing systems with AWS, implementing dynamic scaling through Amazon EKS, optimizing database management with Cassandra and MariaDB, and ensuring SaaS operations via precise configuration of cloud components.
