About the Client
Alpha Serve, recognized as an Atlassian Platinum Marketplace Partner, offers a portfolio of more than 20 applications. These tools, including notable Cloud apps like Power BI Connector for Jira, Tableau Connector for Jira, and BigQuery Connector for Jira, are utilized daily by large enterprises to facilitate the export of significant Jira data volumes to external BI platforms. With an increased user base, the company encountered higher server demands, leading them to consider AWS for resolving data residency challenges. They selected Triangu for their expertise in AWS, seeking to enhance their infrastructure across multiple regions and improve CI/CD processes for their applications.
Challenge
When Atlassian unveiled data residency capabilities, Alpha Serve quickly aligned their infrastructure for the Power BI Connector for Jira, transitioning from a single US-based server setup to a robust, multi-region AWS framework. Triangu stepped in with innovative Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD automation, making the management of diverse environments a breeze.
Solution
The technical strategy involved using Packer for creating multi-regional AMIs and Terraform for automating the AWS cloud infrastructure, including VPC+Peering, Certificate Manager + ALB + EC2 for scalable computing needs, ElastiCache Redis, RDS Postgres Instance, and OpenSearch for centralized logging. Furthermore, GitLab pipelines were employed for the CI/CD process.
The project transformed Alpha Serve’s infrastructure, enabling hosting across multiple US regions.
This shift to an automated, multi-regional setup streamlined infrastructure management.
Another technical achievement was enhancing the application deployment process.
